Vic, I think that people that blew up CBSFM had the same rationale that you have. They failed to realize that station did better when it played a cross section of 50's-80's songs and included specialty weekends. I would also point to Norm N. Nite's show which apparently got great ratings. Personally I think that the "super 60's and 70's" weekends they were having at the end just weren't cutting it because the same songs were played over and over again and they made it seem like music did not exist before 1965 execpt on Sunday nights.
