For oldies fans in particular, I'm saying (not for the first time) that satellite is only a temporary reprieve. Don't imagine this is a permanent solution, because they don't love you (the listener) any more than terrestrial station-owners do. Therefore, it's just a matter of time before satellite oldies fans are marginalized by the same business & commercial forces acting on all broadcast media.

Internet may be wild & free now, but how long before royalties become an issue? Remember it's also a broadcast medium, and for the moment there is no compensation to ASCAP/BMI. Again I'm sure that's just a temporary state of affairs, as the artists and copyright holders will be looking for compensation at some point. (Justifiably, I might add.)
