Correct me if I'm wrong, but my understanding is that Air America is paid programming, i.e. they buy airtime at stations. As opposed to Limbaugh, O'Reilly etc. which are syndicated programs that stations pay to broadcast so they can sell advertising around them.

O'Reilly's comments were made at an advertising industry convention where he was probably a paid speaker, a big-name draw for convention attendees, and one of their industry's most lucrative acts. No different than theater-owner conventions hiring movie stars to tell attendees that home video sucks. And if you hire Bill O'Reilly, you get Bill O'Reilly!

Doesn't relate to oldies, but the possibility exists of Air America buying time from Infinity on CBS-FM. They were planning to buy time on both Sirius and XM but have now left Sirius.
