I put my Sirius Radio on this morning and as they had previously announced, the radio took a minute or two to reprogram all of its channels. Howards channel appears in the display when ch 100 is selected and it also says something like " comming in Jamuary ". Possibly this is just to have the channel in place and ready to go. Annother channel that appears as new is ch 112 Martha Stewart .
I have recently been listening to the " standards " channel titled Swing Time. With the radio in the boom box attachment it sounds really good and will easily fill an average room with good sound. It would be nice if the boom box attachment had bass & treble controls on it although as supplied its " Balanced Tone " is quite pleasing.
I have found a more permanent location for the antenna. I moved it from the back porch to outside on a windowsill and I am still getting full scale deflection on the sat signal display.
A few of my friends that I have mentioned it to say they would never pay for radio. To me it is not just a radio, it is a music service as well. I worked in the commercial music business for many years and to me any " Music Service " that you can have delivered to your premesis for less than One Dollar a day is a bargain. Muzak used to charge about One Dollar a day and that was only for One Channel and the fidelity was not as good as on Sirius Satellite Radio.
To me, this is not " just radio " it is a rather complete music and program service, listener supported. This indicates that this service will cater to its subscribers rather than Madison Ave executives who most likely don't listen to radio anyway.
