Hya Marty,
Without meaning to take issue -- it occured to me after your post to look it up -- I remembered WHLI's steady showing in the Ocean-Monmouth NJ Books. Somehow they pick up consistent mentions every rating there, in spite of being an AM music station too. In fact, I believe their signal isn't even directed that way ... It's all water path. (I remember being in Point Pleasant NJ and hearing WLIM booming in with the late Lilla Savona's Italian show one afternoon. She was a former co-worker and a nice, enthusiastic gal -- and a heck of a salesperson. I phoned her on the spot. I still have her nice return letter here).
Of course, it wouldn't make any difference saleswise if WMID showed up with a 60 share on Long Island. And you're right ; a showing for them there IS pretty inconceivable. But it might be neat to have, say, B-103 and WMID do a tandem Oldies broadcast -- maybe even with WLNG, to herald next Summer. 'The Battle Of The Beaches', simulcast on all three.
And in late Summer, he said, digressing horribly, they could put on 'The Sons Of The Beaches'.
