Here's what I don't understand. Most of the clips we can hear on this website from the old WABC (Harry Harrison, Dan Ingram, Ron Lundy, Chuck Leonard, Brucie, etc.) were recorded in the 70s.

Most of the music was current in its day... mostly 70s with a few 60s songs as oldies.

So why can't WCBS-FM return to the airwaves as an oldies station with this kind of playlist? Largely 70s hits with a few 60s and a few 80s that sound compatible? Lite-FM plays some 60s music and plenty of 70s and 80s songs and no one thinks they're too old for decent demos.

After all, those who grew up in the 70s are still well within the 25-54 demographic. If we grew up listening to the WABC All-Americans playing 70s hits, why can't we do that now? Or in this case, rehire the available WCBS-FM DJs.
