I don't know why so many are so quick to do a blanket trashing of the 70's based only on disco (which was really only massively popular in '78 and '79) and disposable fluff like "Billy Don't Be A Hero."

The 70's had a lot going for it. Stevie Wonder, Sly Stone and Marvin Gaye crafted their masterpiece albums all during the 70's. Chicago (at least up until 1975) created some very compelling music. It was the decade that gave us BTO, Lynyrd Skynyrd, Al Green, Earth Wind & Fire, great power pop from the Raspberries...then there was Led Zeppelin...even though they started in the 60's...they went on to do classic work all through the 70's ("Presence" being the only dud). I could go on and on.

So please don't dismiss a whole decade based on only a couple of bad years ('78-79).
