I'm afraid you MAY be right.
I don't remember this, but back in 1975 when the then WNCN became a rocker their listeners protested and the station returned.
But for us Oldies and Pop Standards listeners who want to see a return of our favorite music, we need someone or a group that would spearhead a campaign to meet with the major ad agencies. And this could take a lot of time during a working day.
If we continue to mourn about the demise of oldies music, Classic Rock and even Classic R&B could be next and the airwaves could be saturated with Hip Hop since this is becoming the dominant format in the major cities.
