Ron-We are the same age so probably share the same memories. On the last Friday night in January '64 I was riding with my father to visit my aunt and uncle in Newark to see their new baby. It was a warm foggy night and Cousin Brucie was going on and on about the Beatles mentioning that "I wanna hold your hand", "I saw her standing there," and "Please please me" were all on the charts and to expect big things from the Beatles. His excitement was genuine and helped me get hooked on the Beatles. A few weeks later, the Beatles debuted on Ed Sullivan and I can honestly recall that EVERYONE I know was watching. By early April, when my friends and I would turn on the radio, the question was "which Beatles song are they playing now?"

Although I enjoyed the music from the summer of '64, it was three years later, the summer of love (and late Spring of '67)which had the best music-Light my Fire, Groovin, Respect, Society's Child, Can't Take my eyes off you, Somebody to Love, I was made to love her, All you need is love, Reflections, SF wear some flowers in your hair, and Sunday will never be the same. Sgt. Peppers Lonely Hearts Club Band was the soundtrack of the summer of '67 and debut albums by the Doors, Jefferson Airplane, Janis Joplin, Jimi Hendrix and Eric Clapton's new group the Cream happened that summer. Need I say more!
