Hi All,
First let me express my deep gratitude to both Bob and Allan for doing such a wonderful job in providing a place for us to vent, mourn & dream during these first tough months of withdrawal.
I am so pleased tto find that so many others share my feelings about "our" music, terrestrial (sp?) radio and the profound importance of being a part of the invisible community of listeners.
I am an artist but work in retail a few days a week in a little art store in Greenwich Village and every day that I opened the store I tuned in CBS and kept it on ten hours a day . It was perfect and timeless and the place so many felt most at home.
To all those who have pronounced the oldies format DOA I would like them to know that it was my job to make customers happy & create a comfortable shopping environment and day after day after day I watched customers (of all ages) silently mouth the words and step to the beat.
We'll still step to the beat we just won't be together at least not for a while so until then be well, be safe, be happy and if you hear any good news about NYC radio trends or format re-incarnation PLEASE e-mail me quick.
p.s. Planned or pushed refered to why we're disbanding? Did the message board have a planned drop dead date or did list participation dip too low?
