I believe this board was originally established as a temporary board to relieve the main board ( NYRMB ) from going into a severe overload situation when we suddenly lost WCBS-FM OLDIES 101.1 FM a few months ago. I think the posts were comming in so fast that rather than stop people from posting or severely limiting and deleting posts this board was created so we All could post to our hearts content without blowing the NYRMB right off the the internet. When JACK-FM suddenly appeared it was like the dam broke and the main NYRMB ( board ) would have become washed away with posts comming in at a rate faster than you could click the refresh button on your internet screen. Thanks to Allan Sniffen he created this CBS-FM posting board so we could ALL have our say. When it appeared the crisis was over and Alan felt it was time to close the board, Bob Shannon kept it going for us for an extended period of time.
For a temporary posting board to relieve the main posting board ( NYRMB ) this board has been a real blessing for so many former CBS-FM OLDIES 101.1 listeners. Now the immediate crisis has ended and the board has served its intended purpose very very well thanks to its creator, moderators and the board participants.
This board has meant so much to so many a Brand New dedicated board for former WCBS-FM OLDIES 101.1 listeners has opened up on antoher website.
