I wonder what a board like this would have read like if we had this when WABC Musicradio 77 went to talk ? At least then we had an advance notice of what was going to happen so the shock element was not as great as it was when we lots WCBS=FM OLDIES 101.1. At the moment it appears that the recently established board at the www.WCBSFM.org site will be a good place to pick up where we leave off on this temporary board. ( the CBSFM.org site claims no connection to Infinity Broadcasting or WCBS FM ).
With the help of this board we have all found new places to enjoy the pleasure and entertainment in listening to Radio and now Internet Broadcasting the way " WE " like it.
Possibly at a time when some of the monopoly corporations feel they have squeezed every last dollar they can out of Broadcast Radio they will move on to something else and Broadcast Radio can go back to the people who know and can do it best. In the mean time however I am beginning to get the impression that the Internet may be offering a better place for originality in broadcasting ( yes I feel the Internet IS Broadcasting although not necessarily Radio Broadcasting ) and it gives a lot of talented people the chance to work outside of the stringent and restricted programming formats used in many radio broadcast situations today.
It has been a lot of fun on this board and although it will be missed, we knew it was a limited time board at the beginning. Thanks again Allan and Bob. It is goodbye on this board and hello on the wcbsfm.org board.
