So here's the lowdown...
The Lettermen...NOT the originals (only one was, I believe)...
They sang a load of songs NOT theirs..."People Got to Be Free", etc., HUH?
Then they get to their own legitimate hits...
They had six..."Hurt So Bad", "The Way You Look Tonight", "When I Fall in Love", "Theme from a Summer Place", "Goin' Out of My Head/Can't Take My Eyes Off You", and "Come Back Silly Girl".
Well, they didn't even do "Come Back Silly Girl". They did an abbreviated version of "Hurt So Bad". And they did a two minute quickie medley of "The Way You Look Tonight"/"When I Fall in Love"/"Theme from a Summer Place".
What a joke! These guys are NOT the Beatles, Four Seasons, Beach Boys, etc., that they have SOOOOO many legit hits to do. They had SIX, count 'em, S-I-X. Can ya PLEASE do your own hits, instead of a ridiculous version of "People Got to Be Free"?
And this is a common trait of many of these oldies groups...they seem to try to be "cool" with weird stuff rather than play their own hits.
To me it made what could have been a good concert, just a mediocre concert.
What a shame.
