Just a question..
Assuming a particular radio station is playing oldies from 50's - 90's, do those oldie stations actually think that they will keep listeners who prefer music from a couple of decades earlier or visa versa? (50's - 70's)
Good point about your chart interputation.
I agree, charts can be misleading by the facts that you stated.
Personally, chart position means practically nothing to me.
For the most part I use charts (top 100)as a listing of singles that a particular artist(s) released.
To me, the music is what matters.
A good quality tune has lasting power throughout the years.
