Don't know what kind of "Craze" followed with it, but the "craziest" dance I can think of is one offered by the Dellwoods called "Let's Do The Pretzel", from 1962 on the MAD-related LP on Big Top pictured above.

The dance had originally been offered up as a single in November 1961 released on RCA Victor, but with the Artist (one in the same) credited as The Sweet Sick Teens. The flip side was another song that made the later album, "Agnus (The Teenage Russian Spy)".

Think of the Dance as being similar to the Twist, only Twistier...
