Here's the call sheet that accompanied the record.

The face in the corner was not common to most sheets, and I'm guessing it is that of the label owner, Clay Ramsey. Or was it his son, Floyd Ramsey, who acted as engineer on all of the recordings? This record apparently dates from around 1957, give or take a year, based on info around the web.

If you check back on the initial posting, you'll see that the Catalog was only $1.00. On this issue, if you read the bottom of the call sheet, the cost was now up to $1.25. Earlier call sheets have the Catalog priced at $1.10.

Checking back on the Catalog again, it shows the address as being 3703 N. 7th St.. By this issue, the address had moved to 708 E. Weldon, which was about a block away.

The 3703 address was also home to at least a couple of other Ramsey enterprises. In 1955, their M.C.I. label was introduced, which gave way to their first Top 10 Hit in 1956. Sanford Clark had recorded "The Fool" for the label with the aid of Lee Hazelwood, and only because Hazelwood's own VIV label was short on funds. It's initial debut failed, but once the record was issued on the Dot label about a month later...

Another label at that address was the REV label (short for REVERE). Notable releases began in 1958 when Gary Paxton and Clyde Battin had their initial teaming as the Pledges just before becoming Gary & Clyde (what else?) with "Why Not Confess" in 1959. That record made it over to Bob Shad's TIME label eventually where the duo eventually adapted to the name Skip & Flip for Shad's BRENT label. Not to feel left out, his other SHAD label had the duo billed as Chuck & Chuckles. (Some discographies mistakenly bill them as Chuck & the Chuckles, but they were a duo not a group.) But now I'm getting WAY off track...!

And it's WAY past my bedtime!!

G'Night...
