I guess it boils down to Station policy. But as you will see later in this message, it soon changed*.

I'm learning today that copies were also pressed on yellow pastic (at least one anyway) from John Tefteller. He sold one (via his monthly auction) awhile back to someone in Arizona who now considers it the Prize of his collection.

Upcoming sometime soon, perhaps next month, (and ths is pure coincidence!), John will have a copy of the M.C.I. record up for auction. It will be the two-named edition with no "RE1" in the dead wax. The down side is (if there really is one) that somebody crossed off Hazelwood's name on the label. Maybe it was Hazelwood himself...?

In case no one noticed (I didn't see it until someone else mentioned it), Lee Hazelwood changed the spelling of his name from Hazelwood to Hazlewood, and then back to Hazelwood again, early on before finally settling on the Hazlewood spelling.

*Follow the link and click on the little cameras next to the titles to view the various labels. Click also on the speakers to hear 30" sound samples where available.
