Just a thought..
There was a long discussion on another message board of the possibility of inaccuracies with various radio station's yearly Top 100 Charts from the 60'-70's.
I don't know enough about this topic to comment on.

Anyway...That was then, this is now.
In my opinion, does it really matter anymore?
Here we are in 2008.
What is important to me is how certain oldie songs have held up after all these years.
Maybe it might be a good idea for a radio station(s) to start a new yearly Top 100 (or even 500) oldie list from previous years (60's, 70's)implementing a calculated formula by call in or texting votes on oldie songs. Example: American Idol's formular.
Wouldn't that be a more realistic gauge on how a particular oldie has held up?
It might also get the younger listeners to vote on oldies songs.
I think these results would be up to date and more creditable for THESE TIMES.(please I'm saying the former yearly Top 100 surveys are not creditable)
Sometimes people's feelings for certain songs change in time, which in my opinion makes this accurate.
