for those on this Board who R-E-S-P-E-C-T and APPRECIATE our rhythm-and-blues artists with a dash of funk, this IS wonderful news! Having started out with the late Rick James producing her FIRST albums, to her more recent 2004 production "La Dona", to her duets with Rick James, Smokey Robinson, and the late Gerald Levert, THIS gal PROVED (and STILL PROVES!) that whatever she did, she did it with soul!!
And for those who never EVEN KNEW about the Rhythm-and-Blues Foundation, this was started back in the 80's as the FIRST acknowledgement for many of our rhythm-and-blues pioneers - the late Ruth Brown ("5-10-15 Hours") and Bonnie Raitt ("Something to Talk About" - this girl SO GETS IT!!) were among the FIRST to be on the committee...
