In all fairness, Jeff, Hendrix may rule among the 1967 songs still played on radio due to the upper hand Classic and Active Rock formats have in most radio markets, while straight oldies have suffered. Add to that the fact that most Classic Rock stations rotate a limited number of songs and it helps explain why both Hendrix and the Doors are huge these days.

Still, that doesn't take anything away from what you've pointed out. Hendrix was a master of his craft, the same way Benny Goodman or Miles Davis was. Which is why each of their legacies endures.
