One thing about "The Doo Wop Shoppe" when I heard it in the past was, it never was totally '50s and '60s. Aside from some then-new stuff (usually by the in-studio guests), you would hear some '70s and even '80s songs once in a while that fit the format as I recall.
As noted in the thread above, I would hope it's revived at some point, if so, perhaps in tandem with Norm N. Nite's "Heart of Rock 'n Roll" in a back-to-back block from 6:00 PM-Midnight or 7:00 PM-1:00 AM Sunday nights. Sunday night has never really been that big a radio night for those younger as I recall, and given the institution "The Doo Wop Shoppe" was in particular, I think having that on Sunday nights from 9:00 PM-Midnight or 10:00 PM-1:00 AM would work.
