Hey, Dan:

To put it gently:

OLDIES = WCBS-FM!!

Actually, you would have to be a New Yorker to REALLY APPRECIATE the scope and significance of both the events of June 3, 2005 and July 12, 2007; WCBSFM is not just another "oldies/classic hits" station - it is a part of OUR history, a part of OUR culture - it plays and gives us, as Bobby Jay always says, "some of the best memories of our lives". To have lost a station like that on June 3 was like losing a limb or part of the family. For the music and the station to return in the grand fashion THAT IT HAS since July 12, 2007, IT IS A CELEBRATION of persistence, longsuffering, patience, and faith - for me, personally, even with the past two years, I kept the hope alive IN MY HEART that oldies would RETURN TO NEW YORK FULLTIME! Brian Thomas, Jennifer Donohue, and everyone else have proved me right! They have come out of the starting gate quickly and have begun to make the moves necessary NOT ONLY to maintain WCBSFM's VERY LOYAL ORIGINAL audience (of which I am one - 1984-2005) but to even get NEW listeners. I say BRAVO to ALL for that!

As for you, my dear, be grateful and VERY thankful for your station's continued success and popularity - ANY station that can succeed playing oldies/classic hits in 2007 is PROOF that the format NOT ONLY lives, but BREATHES! And remember this, anything can happen..But I do only wish you and everyone at your station the BEST...as I do our GREAT WCBSFM, New York's (and the nation's) Oldies Station!
