I probably shouldn't get into this because it's not really on-topic, but why IN THE WORLD should they make Madonna the ONLY inductee next year? I'm not saying that she doesn't belong--she does--but why create a special honor for her that was never done for anyone, including Elvis, Chuck Berry, or the Beatles? Why make other deserving artists wait? I don't understand that at all.

Incidentally, Madonna does not have the most #1 hits by a female artist. Diana Ross has the most if you count both her solo and Supremes hits; Mariah Carey has the most as a solo artist only. Not that that changes your main point.

BTW, on the topic of the Hall: it is absolutely criminal that Gamble and Huff aren't in in the non-performers section. They didn't put in anyone in that section this year, which is crazy.

Back to being on-topic: yes, several Madonna hits from the 80s fit in well with the new format. I'm sure they'll get to them eventually.
