Personally, I do not like 96.7 all that much. That is probably because they do play music that is too current for my taste (I just don't like the sound of a lot of the new stuff!) I really wanted to like the station when it flipped, but soon started listening to classic rock. Now I have abandoned all of the stations that were substitutes for WCBS and am happy to have music that I truly enjoy on the radio again.
I am a professor in CT, so background music at work is not an option for me. The radios in the snack bar and dining room of the University were tuned in to 95.9 last year, and students seem to enjoy this station. I guess the students don't fit the demo that 96.7 is after anyway. I think it's a good bet that WCBS will also not replace the classic rock currently being played in those locations either.
