I agree with this as a principle. Grandmaster Flash and the Furious Five were inducted last year. No way they belong on CBS-FM. The Sex Pistols were inducted in '06. They don't belong either. One thing has nothing to do with the other.
But I think an argument can be made that certain Madonna hits from the 80s could fit on CBS-FM in a format that's also playing upbeat 80s hits from Michael Jackson and Lionel Ritchie. I think "Holiday" and "Borderline" could fit the format. "Holiday," especially, seems like it was designed for Bill Lee to talk it all the way up to the post.
I still think the Ronettes (HOF inductees, 2007) belong on CBS-FM. Their music is more modern than a lot of the doo wop stuff from the 50s, and also people know Ronnie Spector from the Eddie Money song. If CBS-FM is going to play the Supremes, they can play the Ronettes too.
