ANY Specialty Show should be avoided, at this point in time at least. And that includes any Countdown Shows as well.
Focusing on any ONE Artist, Sound, or Time Period for an extended period is simply too long. At most, it should be done sparingly, perhaps as many as 3 in a row, and then done very few and very far between. This would also encompass Shows that center on specific statistal data, like all #1 songs, that no longer make it about the Music.
Keep every song a surprise while having it complement the mood, and you'll catch my interest. Once the curiosity is lost, then so too is the listener. Keep the audience wanting more, but don't wait until tomorrow to fulfill it.
