I must partially object, and say that some of these themes are just way too broad to have one or two songs per hour. Promoting a spotlight on an entire era of rock and roll, and then only playing one song per hour, runs the danger of being the worst of both worlds--turning off the younger listeners (who may hear the promos and think there's going to be more of it than there is) while leaving the people who actually care about the early music unsatisfied.

I love the idea of doing the Hall of Fame throughout the day; just narrow the focus a bit. "Summer songs" or "country crossover smashes" better fit the way this is scheduled. (Is it always one song per hour? Do they do more at night? I'm wondering how many total songs get played.) How about "comeback hits", for example? And if you want to spotlight the early stuff, pick a topic that's narrower, such as "Lieber and Stoller" or "the best of the girl groups" or "the biggest rock hits of 1958". "Songs that started a dance craze" is actually a great example--a lot of early 60s stuff fits, but you can also include later things such as "The Hustle" or "Do The Freddie". More along those lines, I say!
