It does something else which radio used to do. By being positive about each other they are also respecting each other instead of tearing each other down as other radio personalities, especially in shock talk radio, are prone to do.
On a subliminal level, this changes what is perceived to be "normal" behavior - a minimal level of decency. While older people's behavior patterns are pretty well set, when younger people listen, I believe this has a real effect.
Jocks used to teach us by example what was acceptable discourse in a public place. We seem to have lost that. The personalities at CBS-FM, whether by design or by nature, are bringing that back.
