Does the Intro refer to how much time they have to "talk up" the record before the singing starts? I was actually wondering earlier today if DJ's were provided that information (I figured they would have to, otherwise the talk ups would be a lot more difficult to time)? In modern times, are DJ's provided with a count down timer so they know exactly when to stop talking? I'm guessing for most stations this isn't an issue since they don't do talk-ups.

Also, what does it mean where it says things like "23/41" (Baker Street) for the Intro instead of a number of seconds?

Having done an internship for a while in cable news, I can really appreciate how CBS-FM's DJ's consistently hit their time. I can assure you that there are some very talented news people who cannot hit their breaks well - it is definitely not something easy to do.
