A (South) Bronx tale
Onetime "Sopranos" family member Federico Castelluccio (Furio) makes his film writing/directing debut in "Tracks of Color," a short film produced by Gianna Palminteri (wife of Chazz Palminteri). It screens tomorrow and Sunday at the 2007 HBO International Latino Film Festival (Directors Guild Theater, W. 57th).
The movie, set in the South Bronx, tells the story of a young father and his son set against the backdrop of a group of graffiti artists. Castelluccio and Palminteri are currently working on expanding "Tracks of Color" into a feature-length movie.
Speaking of "The Sopranos" . . . that "Sesame Street" mention in yesterday's Starr Report item about Tony Sirico is actually an ABC special that will air in December -with Tony and fellow "Sopranos" alum Steve Schirripa playing Bert and Ernie.
Really.

AMC launched its new series, "Mad Men," with a party at Monkey Bar last Thursday night. The show's first-night numbers were pretty good: It averaged 1.6 million viewers, but skewed older, which usually doesn't thrill advertisers - ironically the same people the show is all about (life on Madison Avenue circa 1960).
Of the 1.6 million "Mad Men" premiere viewers, over 1 million of them were over 50 years old, according to Nielsen (median age of the "Mad Men" viewer was 54).
Last, but not least:
* FNC's Greta Van Susteren plays herself on tonight's 10 p.m. series premiere of FX's "Damages" opposite Glenn Close.
* Hires: Dean Reynolds joins CBS News as a correspondent, while Lee Cowan leaves CBS News to join NBC News as a correspondent.
* Amy Finley was crowned "The Next Food Network" star Sunday night. America exhales.
* Rick Stacy and Steve O'Brien have joined the revamped WCBS FM weekend on-air staff.
* The FerenComm PR folks still displaced - their office is in the "Frozen Zone" affected by last week's steam- pipe explosion near Grand Central.
