First of all, I have never heard Elvis Only or Elvis and Friends. Second, I am a fan of Elvis particularly what he did in the 50s and 60s. His stuff in the 70s does not really do it for me with maybe one or two exceptions.

I think the concept of running syndicated shows on the weekends gets old (no pun intended) after a while. Granted many good shows that fit the format of a station exist and I have run them at different stations. You can run syndicated shows along with the spots successfully through a computer with no one at the station however I think this is done because many places feel they have to fill the particular daypart on the weekend with somethhing so why not throw this show on the air.

I am not against saving money and again I have never heard the particular shows that are being discussed on this thread but if you are a big company like CBS Radio and you can afford to keep a live local presence going with a good sounding part timer, then I say go for it and keep the consistant sound of the station going around the clock.
