AC stations play "Into The Night" all the time. I know "Magic 98.3" in central NJ does, and probably 106.7 plays it as well.
The song was actually a two-time one-hit wonder for Benny Mardones. It hit the Billboard Top 20 both in 1980 when it was first released, and then again in 1989. Scott Shannon was largely responsible for its second charting when he added it to the playlist of his L.A. station.
There are a lot of other semi-forgotten cheesy-but-memorable '80s songs just waiting for CBS-FM to dust them off. One example that comes to mind is "Nothing's Gonna Change My Love For You" by Glenn Medeiros, a #12 hit from 1987.
