If a radio station claims to be a greatest HITS outlet, it should play the HIT versions. I'm telling you that despite the fact that you don't want to hear it. It is a rule with justification. Radio can appeal to the casual listener playing the HIT versions. People who have listened to AOR over the years expect the longer versions on their AOR station. People who have listened to greatest hits stations over the years are used to the hit versions we heard as teenagers and young adults and that is what we expect to hear on a greatest hits stations.

The long version of Light My Fire was not a hit. The edited version was the hit.
