That reminds me of a visit to the dentist some 15 years ago. The office was running WPAT-FM with one speaker in the waiting room and the other on the other side of the wall and closed door in the office. that exact problem was driving me nuts while I was waiting. I was reasonably friendly with the receptionist, so I asked if I could do something about it. She showed me the receiver and of course it was set to stereo. I showed her how to set it to mono and she immediately noticed the difference and was very thankful.
Sometimes it just takes someone with a little understanding of radio to make things better for all. :)
