Tony, I think the problem here is that most of those who replied to your post are displaying the "knee-jerk" reaction to the term "rap". Thinking it is nothing but angry sounding "yarns" that belittle women, wish death upon law enforcement people, and glamorize violence. While that is certainly true of much of the genre, the early days of rap included many titles that were fun for **everybody** to listen to, and some were dowwnright hilarious! Now, don't get me wrong: I dislike rap/hip-hop just as much as the next guy, but..."Rapper's Delight", "The Breaks", and "Bust A Move" were basically comedy records! And "Rapture" by Blondie? Harmless! However, I don't think I would play any of the stuff on CBS-FM. Why? Because unfortunately I feel that much of the listening audience has those same "knee jerk" opinions stated by the others here, and it wouldn't be worth it to lose the listenership.
