Loved Brit poster David Oliver's line -- something to the effect that he wouldn't mind nowadays if the on-air jock talked all the way THROUGH the song.

Going into the niched 80's is toptoeing on eggs. Going back to the 50s is off-limits. What's left to approach with any *true* confidence are the late 60s into 1980 or so -- about a 16-year sliver of pop humanity. Many more pop songs from then, to which this syndicated nation traditionally has been exposed, should count. At the very LEAST, all of them should be given a dry run, to see the response.

Oddly, as Oldies, that 16-year reach is about the same span as the original 101.1 had to work with -- 1958-1973 or so. It's intriguing ; watching this cumbersome new version of a 16-year wide tent try to fit twenty years or more of capacity. But they have some elbow room. And it's fun watching and hearing them try.

It's a nice job, but someone has to do it.
