At Sirius, the jocks actually hear the beginnings and ends of songs when they voicetrack and if they don't like the way it came out, they can either re-record it or electronically move the voice track to its proper position.
When done right, there is absolutely no way you can tell it's being voicetracked. In fact, a well-voicetracked session with a personality jock is far superior to a so-called live show with a jock who isn't permitted to do anything but read liners and play formatics.
If this isn't happening at CBS-FM, then there's a problem with the voice-track software.
