1. I think that someone in CBS Programming had a Great Idea. We know they read this board, and between the multitude of requests for oldies, and the multitude of DJs' names brought to the fore, someone @ CBS decided to put the two together. So, they came up with the decision, *and* we had impact. VERY innovative, fun and exciting!!! My hat is off to them.
2. IMO, CBS FM is doing its programming independently of considerations regarding other stations. This is good, because they are focusing on how to make their whole product the best they can.
Joe Causi is already scheduled for Saturday nights, and I think it's a brilliant move for CBS to schedule something exciting to spice up Sunday evenings. Just when everyone is thinking about (YUK) having to go back to work the next day, there's an interesting program we can look forward to. Don't forget about CBS' previous success with this time slot with Ed Sullivan, who OWNED Sunday nights for years.
3. I loved Dan Ingram way before I ever knew anyone else loved him. Having said that, IMO, Dan had his feelings hurt, which is understandable. If he's approached *properly* by the new administration, I think amends can be made. After all, radio is in Dan's blood, and when something's in your blood....
Remember that even Roger Maris came back to Yankee Stadium. EVERYONE wants to come home, but the key is for CBS to approach him respectfully and affectionately. And I, for one, really want that for Dan, CBS, and US too. It's a time for healing, now that CBS FM has returned.
