Given that almost everyone posting here seems to think that expectations were raised a bit too high or that they were misleading, is it possible that maybe didn't read enough into it? You are acting as though the problem is all of *us* and has nothing to do with anything CBS-FM did.
I mean, if there were only 1 or 2 people saying that, maybe that would be different. However, clearly, the majority of people who have posted here believed that either (1) the show didn't reach expectations, and (2) the show was promoted in a misleading way.
The stuff I quoted from the website shows that it was promoted in a misleading way. I know you basically dismissed that without a counterargument, but it's true. On Saturday, one of the jocks said that the show would be so big that it would "blow our minds." While I enjoyed the show (and many others seemed to as well), I don't think it "blew our minds" either. Did the show blow your mind?
Let me be clear - I don't think CBS-FM was purposely misleading. I also think their promotions were in good faith - clearly they wanted to hype their program to draw in a bunch of listeners. I think the show was very good, and I enjoyed listening to part of it. That said, I don't think there's anything wrong with pointing out what many of us view as a problem with how the show was promoted. Like I said earlier, it really doesn't matter what CBS-FM intended by their promotions if most people misinterpreted the message they were trying to convey.
