>>>Keep in mind that Joe McCoy is consulting The Breeze in New Jersey and they just did a Radio Greats Weekend. In fact, he was on the air with HOA, Ron Lundy and others. If it was true that he believed there were not enough legends available for CBS-FM to do such a weekend, do you think he reversed direction 180 degrees years later at "The Breeze"?<<<
Not really, because the dynamic had changed. At the time The Breeze planned its "greats" reunion, CBS-FM was gone, so its DJs were in play. A lot of people were anxious to hear Bob Shannon, Don K. Reed, Bobby Jay, Harry and all the others who had virtually disappeared as of the switch to "Jack." Instead of being the staffers they would have been on CBS-FM, they were now "legends" who hadn't been heard from in a couple of years by most of the audience.
The CBS-FM reunions focused mainly on the old WABC and WMCA names. The Breeze had the advantage of being able to bring back the CBS-FM guys. Made perfect sense for them.
