Allan, the station airstaff and management are aware of this board and have already reacted to posted comments. Many of the posters speculated that it would be a live show hosted by a radio great. Rather than remaining silent, the promos for the show should have been crafted in such a way that the listener would be aware of the fact that the program was not in fact live and was a rebroadcast. This could have been done in a way that celebrated the opportunity of hearing again a radio great doing what they do best.
Leaving that aside, how is this a good approach to programming? Many listeners were disappointed by what they heard and I'm sure some of them tuned out. It's hard for me to see how that helps the station. On top of that, was it wise to lead with Wolfman Jack. If the plan is for this to be a regular feature why not lead with someone the audience is more familiar with and had more of a relationship with. Does this mean that Wolfman Jack is not a radio great, of course not. Does this mean Wolfman can not be featured on an upcoming show in the series, of course not.
Look this is not that big a deal and I believe the overwhelming majority of the listeners will give the show another listen, it was just a bad and somewhat confusing way to start this a new program.
