Most of the artists you mention as being heard more frequently are much more relevant than most of the ones you say are missing. I could see more Madonna (the first songs from her came out in 1982!), but no Kenny and Sheena--they were old Lite FM staples...*old* staples. As for "I Love Rock N Roll" and "What I like about You", they are both considered classics in their own right. The constant bashing of 80s music on this board is so generational, it's not even funny. Petula Clark played my hometown park for free last night. Bruce Springsteen still goes on world tours. Gary Lewis put out some great records, but ask normal people to name a few hits.Who doesn't know 'Old Time Rock and Roll" or Seger's superior original "We've got Tonight". Seger, Springsteen, The Kinks, The Doors, and CCR were all a permanent part of AOR. They sound right on CBS-FM. Not a rock town? So ridiculous....and don't site radio ratings as proof.
