My sense is that despite being a radio legend, Wolfman Jack was never very popular in New York. I for one never really cared for his style.
I think the other thing people were upset about last week was the expectation. Several inside people made statements like "you won't believe who will be the 1st radio great" and "you will be very surprised." So I think with the buildup, many of us were let down.
