When I hear "NY Great" I thought, a legendary figure. Wolfman Jack was one, and if he were alive, he'd definitely be. But I do agree that he and NY radio did not go hand in hand. Some may prefer a live DJ as they can relate better - my wife was yelling from the other room last week, "why do they have a dead guy on here??!!"
Randy Davis is good, he is solid, but he is not considered a legend. I think the "ideal" people for this spot are among the Harry Harrisons, Dan Ingram and that ilk, who we identify as NY radio greats who listeners want to relate to.
