I only heard a bit of both, but I agree that Randy Davis was not inspiring. How much of this was Randy and how much of this were the limitations placed upon him, I don't know. As I've written many times in the past, I think they've got to let the jocks do their thing, especially when they're talented, especially in a specialty show. Otherwise, what's the point? It's just frustrating...it's like waiting for a comic to do a joke that never comes.

My problem with the Wolfman Jack show wasn't the presence of Wolfman. It's that (at least in the segments I heard), there was a disconnect because Wolfman didn't intro any of the music CBS-FM chose to play. So you had a series of disconnected bits interrupted by music (or vice-versa). As I remember it, they didn't even start up any tracks under Wolfman's voice. I don't know what they were using as source material and whether they had access to only one Woflman show or many, but if it was many, I find it hard to believe they couldn't find intros to tracks that CBS-FM has on its playlist.

Maybe they should play sections from previous radio great weekends.
