If they are to do that they should simply ask for votes for songs in the era of music that is played regularly, 1964 to 1989. But I still don't think that an accurate count of the votes will be done. Any votes received will be "eyeballed" to give them an idea of how to compile the 500.
Look at these things in the past. Never any ties, and it just happens that every song on the Top 500 is played by the station. I firmly believe that these listener voted countdowns have little or no bearings on music that is programmed on the station. As far back as WOR FM when they did 2 listener voted countdowns I was told the fact that The Five Satins "In the Still Of the Night" won by landslides but Sebastian Stone would not give it the number one spot. Both times it came in at number 3.
