Now that you have called the boards attention to " In The Still Of The Night " by The Five Satins, you have probably added another one thousand votes for this al time classic.
I guess you really had to be there when the song was first released and charted well with a lot of exposure on Top 40 AM. It had a ( slow ) beat and you could ( slow ) dance to it. In that era, a slow dance meant something. To those that were there at the time hearing that song played again brings back many fond memories. This is the most likely reason In The Still Of The Night along with many other greats of that era will never completely dissapear. It is more what the oldies fans " feel " ( or should I say felt ) as that song was playing than the actual sounds of the song itself. The same principle applies to toher such songs of that era.
WCBS-FM Greatest Hits 101.1 plays what " I " want to hear !
