Let me say one more thing about this and then I'll look at other views. Pre '64 music for the most part is shunned by the "new" CBS-FM because they are afraid of attracting older demos and scaring away the advertisors. So now we have a station heavy into 70's and 80's. But once someone comes out and wants to hear older music or thinks that they can vote their music in, the thought is suddenly ridiculed by others who proclaim that older oldies are "dead". Well who killed it? So because of this many older "oldies" fans have left CBS-FM and conventional radio altogether. Just because CBS-FM or any other station won't play it doesn't mean it is dead.
