Board To Close August 22

The "CBS-FM Returns Board" will close on August 22.

As I commented earlier in the week, the purpose of the Board was to handle the large traffic level that was expected when the station first announced the format change and then did so. And traffic there was! On July 12 the Board was receving hundreds of hits a minute. If nothing else, it was a terrific test for the new server we had recently moved to.

At this time, however, the need no longer exists. I'm not really interested in running a fan board. Programming comments about WCBS-FM will continue on the NYRMB from time to time but the day in/day out comments about what songs have been played or who is on the air isn't something I'm interested in managing.

Thanks to the thousands who participated here over the last six weeks. And, of course, should a situation again arise that demands the addition of another board, we'll "Do It Again"!
