While I still enjoy Jack on WCBS HD2, I'd agree that their slogan "Playing What We Want" could be perceived in that manner. Perhaps they should explain on air what it means.
I believe the impression they are aiming for is that the suits in some distant corporate office do not dictate what Jack plays. The people at the station are choosing the best music for their listeners. Even if that is a myth, the slogan may seem more agreeable if an explanation like that would be provided.
